Internet Explorer was first released in 1995 and included as part of Microsoft Windows operation systems. Internet Explorer was one of the most widely used web browsers, attaining a peak of about 95% usage share during 2002 and 2003. This came after it managed to win the first browser was against Netscape, which was the dominant web browser in the 1990s. Its usage share has since declined with the launch of Firefox and Google Chrome, and with the growing popularity of operating systems such as OS X, Linux, iOS and Android that do not run Internet Explorer.

Opera has been one of the largest web browsers, with more than 350 million users worldwide in 2014, and it still exists today. The initial release was in 1995 running only on Microsoft Windows and has since gained a reputation for being a fast and stable web browser.
It has also entered the mobile software market by creating the Opera browser for Android, iOS, Windows Phone, Symbian, Blackberry and more.
